Are there any other fans of Stan Freberg out there?

Absolutely, Tom. Mr. Freberg does a syndicated 5 minute daily show called Stan Freberg Here where he does an Andy Rooney type routine on various topics, in his usual humorous style. Quite entertaining.

Stan's renditions of The Banana Boat Song ("Too harsh, man!"), and The Yellow Rose of Texas ("Are you any kin to the snare drummer?") were true comedy classics.
And the animated film that accompanied The Banana Boat song was excellent, too.

Mr. Freberg also hosts a daily program called "When Radio Was", which I believe can be picked up on the net somewhere. You can probably perform a google search on Mr. Freberg to get more detailed info. BTW, Rhino Records has a boxed set availible with Mr. Freberg's rather large contribution to Classic Comedy. Check www.rhinorecords.com for pricing. Mr. Freberg is also a member of the Radio Hall Of Fame (10/95), & has a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
